The concept art appears to show the entrance to Buzz Lightyear on the right side (with the dome that covers the Buzz statue), but that would mean that the new building would stick out into the center of the land, and essentially block the view of the Autopia entrance. Maybe it's going somewhere else, but it would make sense to put the entrance there and have the show building outside the railroad On the bright side, having the attraction based in Hong Kong is kind of cool (at least to me, as a guest who thinks of Hong Kong as a far away exotic place). I just hope that they're able to update it enough that the skyline doesn't become horribly out of date

The name is really boring and I don't think that Marvel fits into HKDL's Tomorrowland theme. Unfortunately that doesn't count anymore at Disney. You just have to look at Buzz Lightyear in DLP's Discoveryland.

Yep, I sort of expected more, but apparently Star Tours was already slated to go in this spot, so in a sense it's a step up from what was on the original agenda for HKDL. "I like that it's a E-ticket family thrill ride that's unique to HKDL, using a current character brand that kids are familiar with, and it's not princess driven." This exactly.

Last I heard, they had been used to create the new programming for Star Tours 2, which was then loaded into the rides in WDW, DL, and TDL. I'm no expert, but I feel like it could end up being more expensive to ship the massive simulators halfway around the world than it would be to build new ones; long-term maintenance would certainly be easier with an all-new fleet >>I though that this new attraction could make it to EPCOT, although I'm not sure if a comic book character would fit into EPCOT.<< Whether it fits or not, Marvel's existing licensing contract with Universal for Islands of Adventure make it impossible for Disney to include them in any theme park in the eastern half of the US. They could do something at DLR, but there's less space to work with out there >>I like that it's a E-ticket family thrill ride that's unique to HKDL, using a current character brand that kids are familiar with, and it's not princess driven.<< Just when I was getting hopeful by the popularity of the non-franchise-based (yet still very cartoony) additions for Mystic Point and Grizzly Gulch. I guess I was expecting too much and they needed to put me in my place
Originally Posted By Dr Hans Reinhardt "I guess I was expecting too much and they needed to put me in my place" Surely you didn't think they were just going to not add a Marvel attraction at some point did you? Presumably this is just the beginning of the assault.
Originally Posted By FerretAfros I expected that they would, I had just hoped that it would fit in better. The overall look of HKDL's Tomorrowland is very distinct with its curvy lines and bright colors (some might say cartoony, but that's a different discussion); this addition really doesn't match it in any way. I'm also not convinced that Iron Man especially fits the futuristic theme of TL, since his story is set in present day and deals with a lot of contemporary real world conflicts And just because I know that the Marvel invasion is inevitable, doesn't mean that I can't resist it (though to me, it's more about having yet another character/franchise-based attraction than anything specific to Marvel or Iron Man).

Ferret you know that Tomorrowland is just a hodge-podge dumping ground for anything that WDI thinks is remotely Sci-fi/futuristic. In fact, DL may have the only Tomorrowland with an attraction (Innoventions) actually showcasing real world technological advancements. And by technological advancements I mean the latest products from Best Buy and SkyMall.
