Good update from thedisneyblog.com today. Again, pointing out the unacceptable show conditions of Splash Mountain. I hope the fan community keeps this issue in the spotlight. Why do I think that when it went down for its unneccessary addition of lap restraints last winter that they didn't even work on the show scenes?

Also, great to see pointed out that the Pooh queue was also poorly thought out. Another great example of how unqualified most at WDI are nowadays.

Spalsh has been in godawful show shape for years. I rode in February, a few days after it reopened and it was just embarrassing (after seeing an amazing and PERFECT Splash in Tokyo in December) ... along with BTMRR and Space Mountain, it is confounding and astounding that Disney allows its signature attractions to be run in such awful show shape.

P.S. Don't expect a blog post by Thomas Smith on The Disney Parks Blog about this! ;-)

I try to be balanced, but also call them as I see them.

I don't get why people go so easy on WDW when they pay so much to be there. Are the sheep so accepting of anything these days (will steer away from the nation and world!)?

When Feb 1st came and that ride reopened it should have been perfect.

I wish I could transport people to Tokyo (yes, TDLFAN, you did correctly tell me it would happen!) so they could see how parks are supposed to be run.

The MK truly is ghetto compared to TDL. No other way to put it.

Heard that they day before the shadow wasn't working, so at least they are working on it.

also of note... COP. This was in even worse condition. Got stuck TWICE on it, and in the finale scene. both father and son had horrible hydo issues and were slumped over and only half moving.

Horrid. Don't understand how they can have a show running when there is a VISIBLE issue like this.

The audience, which was pretty packed in, noticed it immediately. Lots of laughs.

...and a huge groan from me.

Rest of the MK looked pretty good, though, I'll give them that. CBJ, Pirates, and HM especially.

HM and Pirates always look fairly good because those are Phil's babies.

But Bombardment Bay is looking FANTASTIC lately, and honestly, it used to be the worst scene. They've really tightened up the lighting and the sound and the effect in there. It's breathtaking.

I remember that too. That TDLFAN was one interesting character.

And I still firmly believe no one in the online world comes close to his level of experience and perspective on the international parks as he does.

I also heard he is very generous when it comes to bringing friends gifts from TDR for years to encourage them to finally go. I bet he doesn't know how much of a great guy many of us think ... nope, I mean KNOW he is! :)

<<I wonder what happened to that guy.>>

Sadly, I heard he fell on hard times. Married some woman named Peggy Mae who drives an ECV (I think he's husband No. 4 or 5 now) and is living in Tulsa where he is unemployed, lives in a trailer on the outskirts of town, teaches bible study on weekends to farm animals and gets excited when Peggy doesn't eat all the Cheetos.

It really is sad for those of us who miss the guy! ;-)

What I, or anyone else here thinks, shouldn't influence your choice as a first timer.

Only you can decide whether it's worth it ... if you go, then you'll likely have a good time since you are a Disney fan (I'd make time for UNI and Cape Canaveral etc too!) ... and if the Walmarted World of Disney really doesn't live up to your expectations, then you'll not return.

If you want any advice, then by all means, ask ...

Why give credit for things looking like they should, EE?

You aren't FOX. You don't need to balance the fact that Splash AND CoP (assuming you chickened out and didn't do BTMRR!) looked awful by pointing out other attractions looked good.

EVERYTHING should be working for the cost of a day at WDW. It is at TDL, even after a natural disaster of incredible magnitude.

Shaking my head. For the first time in my life I'm going to say it... Walt Disney is rolling in his grave, and I'm not joking.

It sounds like the old run down Carny days were the rides really were dangerous...Does management actually "Manage" or do they just flip ON switch and go offsite for a meal(as in the "monorail meal special" that cost WDW an undisclosed amount of money)?

Tasha, in case you haven't noticed, it's the same 5-7 posters complaining in every thread... Granted, there are a few things needing a little Pixie Dust but, WDW is a beautiful place! GO!

I haven't been back since and if WDW is in the condition as described then I will watch the attractions on you tube and save tons of money.
