The Disney Store at least here locally does not sell the AP passes. If you buy them ahead of time I remember that they are good to get you in to the park but you have a time limit to get your permanent pass, this saves you standing in line outside of the park to get your pass. Hope this helps.

You can also buy a regular DL ticket and apply it's full price toward an Annual Pass once you get to DL. All processing is done at the Bank on Main Street.

This way you get one early entry, plus do not have to worry about blackout days on your first visit....

On the last day, go ahead and upgrade to an Annual Pass, you get full credit for what you paid for the ParkHopper, so you don't pay a dime more.....

Yes, so long as they are 3 days or longer ParkHoppers.

jsnelk-If you have a Disney Visa card you can use it for savings at a lot of places while you use your hoppers and then once you get your AP you can use that.

lasvegasgirl- I think the discount is a little higher on some places, like 15%. You can go to disney.com and look at the AP section and see the differences. I didn't find them enough to warrant the increased price to the premium pass.

So maybe you will want to switch one ParkHopper to a Deluxe AP on the 10th, and then pay the $30 for that one person to enter on the 17th (or use that as one of the non-Disney) days. You would need to buy over $300 of food to pay for the blockout pass. This allows that one person to get the discounts for all so long as he/she pays.

As for Early Entry, be careful, due to Grad Nites and the Pirates Premiere, some Early Entry (and Morning Madness) days will be either switched or cancelled in June. Check with Guest Relations when you arrive for the most current info.

The main extras for the Premium.

    No blockout dates

A 15% discount on Food at the Parks and Hotels versus a 10% discount for all other AP holders.

Only the Premium gets a 10% merchandise discount on most park merchandise. (Other AP's get no discount on merchandise in park).

Free Parking at the Mickey & Friends parking structure. ($49 extra for other AP holders).
