Comments and tidbits of news, much of which comes from the latest Cast Member Reference Guide.

Saturday, the crowds at the DLR were lighter than the current normal weekend day. The forecasted rain was one reason. Also, it seems that the "Mini Gay Day" was lightly attended (much smaller than the crowds the have in October).

They have brought out an old horse drawn vehicle that was used on Main Street close to 50th years ago, and sits where they stagecoach used to be next to the Petting Zoo.

Cafe Orleans is scheduled to reopen as a table service restaurant on June 9th.

    Annual Pass Processing news.

First off, the Bank of Main Street opens at Rope Drop (1/2 hour prior to the official Park Opening) until one hour past closing time.

And a second location (Satellite) will open this Friday, April 7th. The Plaza Pavillion will offer AP processing from 10 AM to 7 PM daily. This location will be in addition to the Bank of Main Street. While not mentioned, I presume this will remain open thru the end of Easter Break (April 23rd).

Mickey's Halloween Treat will return in 2006, as Cast Members will be able to purchase tickets for the event starting Monday. (No list of dates was mentioned).

FYI, the Cove Bar is open 7 days a week, The Bar opens at Noon Friday thru Sunday, but at 2:30 PM Monday thru Thursday. The Bar has last call about 1/2 hour prior to park closing.

Alex Stroup over at MousePlanet mentioned in a thread that this is the last week for the "old" Dapper Dans, and that this Tuesday will be the last day the Main 4 will work together. If you have a chance, stop by and thank them for the entertainment they have provided for years. Looks like a new group of singers will start April 11th.

Actually, "rope drop" is the official opening of the park. As an example, on days that we do that and we open at 8am, Disneyland opens to the rope at 7:30am. "Rope drop" itself happens at 8am when the park is announced open.

The Bank of Main Street opens at the same time as rope drop (30 minutes before Disneyland Park opening) and closes an hour after the park closing.<<

I think what they are trying to say, that at the same time we open Main Street for the Rope Drop that will happen at Park Opening, which is normally 30 minutes prior to the actual dropping of the rope, and allowing guests to leave Main Street and enter the park, the AP Processing center opens for business.

Of course, I use some common sense and don't discuss the CM detailed info, as it has no real bearing on the park for guests.

Some info actual is given to me on a semi-official basis, as some folks want certain things promoted.

For example, Disney WANTS to get the word out on the satellite AP Processing center, as the plan is to try and get folks to spread the workload to both locations, and not to overwhelm the Bank of Main Street. The more folks who know, the better for Disney.

Now, the Dapper Dans story, well, that is another matter. But it comes with the territory...

But many different CM's and TDA folks have offered me one in the past, and usually they offer, I don't ask....

I have a regular few that do, and I tend to rotate, to make sure someone can't get "caught" in doing it...

I have seen a picture of it at Forest Lawn. There is a little gate to the area.

You're right DB, the Plaza Pavillion will only be open for the 2 weeks of Spring/Easter break. If it works out, we may open it up again during the busy seasons.

As for the opening/closing times, Luv is correct that the ropedrop is when the park opens - the wording in our guide is wrong, but the time is right. We do open 1/2 before the park does. As for the cloesing time, I wish they would change it. Thecnicaly its when main street closes, but I've been in the bank for months now and not once have we stayed open more than 1/2 after the park closes.
