We've just done little adjustments..like in my bathroom I have an oblong chip (and dip) tray with the dip part removed acting as a bathroom vanity tray, and in the kitchen I have the bottom part of a cookie jar acting as a utensil crock.

My mom is better at repurposing than I am. When we were kids we had this truck (at the time it had a full camper on it) and someone, my dad maybe, had put a floor shifter in the dash board where a radio might be normally. You'd shift from park to drive or reverse horizontally, weird I know, but I thought it was normal. Anyway, one day we were out of town, me, my mom, grandma and little sister and the shift handle came off. So what did my mom (the real mother of invention) do? She went into the camper and grabbed a pair of scissors and she drove that truck on the rest of that trip shifting it with scissors shoved in the dash board.
