We had fun interactions with lots of people that we met. Everyone seemed to be having as much fun as we were having Saw no signs of a trouble economy anywhere-the parks were very busy. Bathrooms seemed cleaner than last Nov when we went. In fact both parks were sparkly. All the food we had was hot when it was supposed to be, fresh and yummy. Cons- I broke my toe just before we left and had to rent a scooter. I am amazed at how stupid lots of people are by cutting in front of scooters. Can't even begin to tell you how close I came to running over people. Scooters do not stop on a dime people! Not nearly enough CMs in DL. The crowd control for the parade (can I say YUCK about that parade?) is waaay understaffed. And the poor face characters-HELLO were are their handlers? My niece and I waited in a line for Sleeping Beauty for over 25 minutes only to be told that we were the last people that she could greet and that she could only take a picture- she did not have time to sign her book. My niece came away saying sadly, "She didn't sign my book!" Why can't DL have handlers that cut off the line BEFORE we waste our Disney time? (And shame on you to the Dad that was 4 people behind us that tried to shove your kids in front of us so that they would be the last ones that Sleeping Beauty saw instead of us-yeah that didn't happen LOL!) I did take this concern to City Hall and prefaced it with "Maybe if enough people voice this concern, someone might be able to improve upon this situation". They were very nice (maybe they were just relieved that I was not a screaming mimi and rewarded me for this=but they asked if I had her book and if I would leave her book that she would have Sleeping Beauty sign it and maybe even leave a picture for her! We left the book and YES magically when we came back later to pick the book up SLEEPING BEAUTY had signed her book AND left a signed picture=YEAH! Thank you DL for another fun time!

Don't know if this helps at all, but last summer, when we went last, we found that character visits were easier to deal with and managed better at DCA. I am not sure if you were in California or not. We had teenagers with us so we had more "patience" on our side than smaller guests, but even so the experience was very pleasant. We could have also participated in a game of "Duck Duck Goose" with 3 Disney Princesses at once. All the small visitors left with hugs, photos and signatures. I didn't expect to see that outside of the main Disney park.
