It is a game where you buy an electronic wand that is encoded with your game name for scoring and minutes of game time remaining. After a short training session with your wand you enter a big midievel themed room that has 100s of things to zap with your wand. You are given a book that outlines each quest and hints on where to find the items. You select a quest where you are given 4-5 things to find. You find them and zap them to complete the quest. The reward for completeing the quest is you get to play a game like fighting a dragon. Now Great Wolf Lodge, the indoor water park resort hotel and spa chain has teamed up with MagiQuest but instead of being set up in a giant room, the things to zap are spread out all over the hotel. And you check your score and the daily high score on the in room TVs. That said, Disney could team up with these MagiQuest people and make a 27 square mile scavenger hunt. Each hotel, park, DtD, Water Park, Mini and Regular Golf course or any other public space could have as many Quests as they want. If done right it could take years to complete them all. PS, I have been hearing about Disney investigating Stand alone resort hotels. And we all know they tried that and didn't have much luck with it. And here's why. They didn't put them near any tourist attractions and they didn't include any kind of attraction of their own. These Great Wolf Lodges with uncrowded indoor water parks, MagiQuest, game rooms the size of a casino, a spa, restaurants and coffee shops, etc. are being plopping them down in the parking lots of amusement parks like Cedar Point, Kings Island and Busch Gardens Europe. Disney could do that.

Originally Posted By dshyates I don't think DinoQuest opens until May. I was wondering the premise of DinoQuest. I know it uses the same tech as MagiQuest where you zap different targets with a wand, but I'm wondering how they shoehorn the magic wand into a paleological theme. Now I see that the GWL also offers QuestMaster Suites that have additional targets in your room. The kids can turn lights on and off with their wands all night long. I will post a review of both the GWL and Busch Gardens Europe when I get back from our trip in April.
