However, depending on what I've read, it can be either pretty crowded or not too bad, although one person's 'not too bad' can still be pretty crowded.

I found a website that stated dates to avoid if you don't like crowds, and they list Nov. 19-27. But they also list Bats Day. I've been there for several Bats Days, and didn't find it crowded at all.

For anyone who's been there during Bats Days and the week of Thanksgiving, are the crowds comparable? I imagine the week leading up to Thanksgiving would be more crowded with schools letting out, but I'd like to know someone's experience on this. Thanks.

and ...September will also see a six week refurbishment begin at California Screamin’ to entirely replace the loop and paint much of the structure from September 6th until October 14th.

and ...early August, the busy Blue Ribbon Bakery on Main Street USA will close for good at that location so that the adjoining Carnation Café can expand and offer indoor seating. The bakery concept will reappear at the far end of Main Street USA in December, when the Mary Poppins themed version of the charming old Plaza Pavilion opens in the space currently occupied by the Annual Passholder processing center

Of course, I'm not really going to believe it until I see it listed on DL's website as being official, but I've decided to go on Nov. 6th anyway, due to the smaller crowds, and if Pirates is down, then it's down.

Even if Pirates does go down, it's always possible that it won't be down for as long as they say, since everything is subject to change with DL.

It's a big, organized "wear your goth outfits to Disneyland" day. It's not an official thing. Disney has nothing to do with it.

I don't think it affects crowding conditions too much in and of itself (other than the danger of getting poked in the eye by the odd black parasol), but for some reason they tend to hold it on days that would be slam packed anyway.

The goths are a fun bunch, and one of the nicest and best-behaved unauthorized "day" aggregations. Don't avoid the park just because of Bats Day.
