I want to do this, but not sure if my son will be bored or not. Any help would be great. Also what does it do? If anyone has ever gone on it then please let me know how you liked it and what it involved.

    Thanks

Also got a group fastpass for HM and IASW. Thinking about going on it again this year but don't know because now I really look at all the decorations for the little touches. Personally my 9 yo nephew probably would not be thrilled with it but he wants to go-go-go all the time.

WE have loved it both times!

Both tour guides we have had were really nice and very informative about the park decorations.

We went to the front of the line for HMH and Small world which was great when the lines are 60+ mins at Christmas!

They then seat you in special seating to watch the Christmas Parade outside Small World, no-one can sit in front of you so your view is not blocked and give you hot chocolate and a cookie, it's just wonderful and well worth doing as the characters must know it's special seating and always wave at us and pay special attention to this seated area!
My photo's are just great of the parade with IASW in the background all light up!

Lat year it did rain on our Holiday tour and the Parade was cancelled but they offered us the opportunity to come back the next night and watch the parade in the reserved seating!

I booked our Holiday tour thru Vacation planning as we were atying at the GCH, so I'm not sure of the actual booking process, we were told to report to the tour booth next to Town Hall prior to the tour starting and we were met by our guide.

It's a magical tour and it's my favourite, out of all the tours we have done at DL!

I don't think your son would be bored as it's not a big talking tour like A walk in Walt's footsteps, it's more looking at the lights and decorations, trying a piece of candy at the candy shop and going on the 2 rides and then watching the parade.
We did it with an 11 year old boy and an eight year old girl on our first trip and a nine year old girl on our second trip They all loved it!

    Hope this helps!

However if your 5 year old is really into Disney and can keep up for a 2 hour (I think that's about right) tour, it is alot of fun and appropriate for any age.

We called VP to book it (missed it last year) and are on the list for when our date is in the 60 day time.
They will ask for your credit card # to book it and I'm pretty sure there is no refund if you change your mind.
