It's kind of sad to see people who are in the Happiest place on Earth frustrated, angry and grouchy because of the crowds and not wanting to stand in line for the rides. I saw several grouches yelling at their kids or spouses or just complaining in line loud enough for everyone else to hear them about how miserable they were standing in line. Sad. We've been every year since 2001, so we decided this trip we were going to take our time and enjoy the park and experience and not be so frantic to ride every ride. It's much more pleasant this way. We slept in every day that we've been here. After a hard few months at work, the last thing I wanted to do was come to Disneyland for more work. I think if everyone came here to enjoy their vacation and relax it wouldn't be so miserable for them, their loved ones and those within earshot of their frustration. Just my 2 cents....

Our friends and family think we're crazy for spending 3-5 days at DL, but we think they're crazy for trying to fit a full visit into one day!

I also have to concur that grumps are the worst! We usually travel when the park isn't busy, but last April we went during spring break. I didn't mind the people or the lines (FP helped a lot!), but I couldn't stand all of the UNHAPPY families! On that one trip it felt like we witnessed more miserable people than in all our trips prior. What a joy kill! I especially felt bad for the kids after 1PM. Once nap time rolled around you could see exhausted children and frazzled parents sniping at each other everywhere. :( Very sad.

Well, to move back to the positive spin, a relaxed trip is wonderful and IMHO the best way to experience the park and build wonderful memories with your family. ;D

    Cheers!

Unfortunately, there is also a horrible flu bug going around in Southern California. Four out of 10 of us caught it after our first full day. Three of us were unable to leave the hotel the rest of the trip (4 nights), and we had to have paramedics out twice for my dad!

The ER doc's said they had seen a number of people from DL over the last couple of weeks.

So many people crammed into the parks, and it's easy for the flu to spread. Being I was one of the sickies, I can tell you this strain is particularly nasty!

SuzieQ, that, along with the forecasted cold/wet weather just ended my thoughts of going to DLAND this coming weekend.Guess I'll just wait till Spring...Pondering a trip up to the snow, but the forecast Highs for the weekend are 31 and 34 degrees. Whatever, I think I will try to avoid the crowds-don't feel like getting sick. BTW, just went to NUTTREE USA this past weekend. Its ok to stop by if in the area, but there is not much there...best thing is that it is brand new. Basically built for families and kids under 6 or 7. The whole family park is about the size of a small grocery store. Hope you and yours are all feeling much better by now
    ...take care

But if you want to say, 'I went to Disneyland, then a day or two will be okay." But personally, my family loves the Disney experience and when I can just stand anywhere in the park and say, "I'm in Disneyland," regardless of crowds, grumps or loud, laughing children," its just a great feeling. 40 days and counting.

I know there is more to see, but I simply can't spend that many days in a row at DLR. I go nuts!
