THey were allright with the crowns, because you knew it was extra decoration, but I wouldn't like these colors to be how guests normally see the castle. What does everyone else think?

Regardless, I rather doubt they will repaint again after the 50th, and I also think that over time the colors will fade somewhat anyway.

It looked like a real fairly tail castle. Now it looks plastic and artificial. I admit the 50th color scheme looks nicer than I thought it would, but is not what I would point to as "good color schemes". Yes that's just my opinion. And John Hench is dead so what are you gonna do. And the 50th colors when faded, will not look like the old colors- they will look like faded 50th colors. I'd love if they did it like the HKDL castle- just pump up the saturation a bit, but not to the My Little Pony Castle level.

When the paint was freshly applied it was great.

But, unfortunately, Disney management hasn't listened to her for YEARS!! That's how low they've sunk and how out of rude they've become--even to the owner of her own home!!! We don't have much faith in this new president, either. He'll most likely continue to ignore what's best for the park, too...

I agree with this, as I think HKDL's color scheme is the best so far. It's vibrant, yet not overdone. Also, I like the fact that there are several shades of pink used rather than the one on the 50th version.

Maybe it's like LilliBelle said above, if they maintained the paint of the subtle colours, then they would could look as nice as the darker ones, especially in Photo's?

Too bad we're going back to the pre-50th castle. It is so small it needs the bling to help. Oh at least it will be just like Hong Kong and not special anymore just the way McDisneyland executives like.

That bridge is probably about 70 years old now and still lit.

Disneyland, with the exception of Tomorrowland and some of the FL/TL border areas, has unbelievable amounts of style and charm built in--so much so, in my opinion, that the 50th gold doesn't improve it--it just gave a different air for a time that was special. But let's drop it (particularly the gold lampposts) and get back to Disneyland's inherent charm. As to the Castle specifically, I think I'll be OK with the color scheme for the time being, though the Fantasyland courtyard area certainly looks and feels different (more realistic) than the Castle forecourt area.

Ie: When they painted Space Mountain for TL 98, I was really excited- I thought how cool to see something that was such a Disney Park constant, reimagined for this exciting new land. And of course we all know how the TL98 rehab went. In time the novelty of the new colors wore off, and I realized how beautiful the White had been, how well thought out the whole design was and that with it painted different colors, you really lost something of the whole.
