And yes, I'm in the Pacific Time Zone, but my cable's out of Yuma, AZ, which is 2 hours behind me.

We enjoyed it, and the soundtrack was pretty good. And those baby ogres are ADORABLE! :)

BUT what on Earth is Shrek doing on ABC???!!!

Michael would have NEVER let any of Jeff-Katz' stuff on ABC, would he?

I'm glad we have the Grinch and Charlie Brown Xmas on tape so we can watch those anytime. It's not Christmas (to me) without them, yet I always seem to miss them when they're on tv!

I also thought it was wierd that Shrek AND Grinch were on ABC vs the NBC/Universal network. What is also equally interesting is that NBC in San Francisco will be airing a local holiday parade featuring Mickey Mouse as the Master of Ceremonies. What will we see next...the NBC peacock on CBS? OK broadcasters....let's get our company mascots on the proper networks so as not to confuse our viewers!

I missed Shrek but very much enjoyed watching the original Grinch.

The TV divisions are a business and go after properties they think will sell commercials first. I presume if NBC Universal went to ABC and asked to air a Universal Studios Theme Park special and offered enough money, ABC would do it. But then again, I presume that the NBC network would give Univeral Studios a discount to air it on its own network.

Shrek is a DreamWorks property. Universal Studios just has the the Theme Park rights to use the characters and show the Shrek Attraction, similar to Indiana Jones or Star Tours.

Fairly soon after Dreamworks was founded, they established an overall TV deal with ABC. This was definitely while Eisner was still with the company and resulted in several series (I believe "Spin City" was the first under the deal).

Despite the various public feuds that we all hear about from time to time, it is important to remember that the key word in "show business" is "business". It isn't at all uncommon for companies or individuals that are attacking one another in the press to simultaneously be in business with each other if a deal seems to make sense.

I just wanted to ask if it bothered anyone else that they've stolen the Black Adder title pattern.

    The Black Adder--Shrek
    Black Adder II--Shrek 2
Black Adder the Third--Shrek the Third
Black Adder Goes Forth--Shrek Goes Fourth

But what will they call the fifth Shrek--there were only four Black Adder series.
