This is also an animated (motion capture) film directed by Robert Zemeckis.

The trailer looks great. Pretty heavy on the cgi though.

From what I've heard, it is pretty likely to be an R-rated film. It should at least be a solid PG-13.

I was surprised that Stardust was PG-13. It was really pretty tame. Good teen date movie. Entertaining enough for adults.

And the CG mo-cap... why bother? The actors look "deader" than their real life counterparts.

This smells like a turkey, although like POLAR EXPRESS, it'll have some visual wow factor to it.

Not enough to get a lot of people over the fact that the animation looks every bit like those interstitial bits that are produced for Expensive Video Games.

I really think they should do more movies in 3-D its really fun.

Here's a recent quite from Nancy Baiman, a Disney animator with credits on Hercules, Treasure Planet, and others:

"There is no point in imitating live action when you can do so much more in animation. Why settle for reality when you can create entire worlds?"

    So true.

Animation is filmmaking tool and there are many valid ways to use it. Not every animated film needs to be in the Disney or Pixar style.

That said has anyone seen the newest red band trailer? well here is a link

I have to wonder how much of Gaiman's original screenplay is left. Didn't he write it in the 1990's?
