We watched Citizen Kane and I absolutely hated it. I hated the abundance of flashbacks, it was boring, I had no feelings toward the characters...nothing. On the other hand, I loved Gone With the Wind, Singin' In The Rain, and Rear Window. But my favorite film I watched in class was Grand Hotel. THAT MOVIE WAS AWESOME!

It's got that theme of obsession that critics love and assign to Hitchcock himself, so they see it as a meta-film thing. Or something. But I always found the supposedly "deep" parts of Vertigo to be shallow and obvious. I love Kane, though.
