How cool would it be if everyone wore their Hawaiian shirts on that day, in a show of respect for this Disneyland classic? Well, I hope they come up with something fun, I would love to check it out. Perhaps my Hawaiian shirt and I may come anyway, as I am sure something will happen.

Judging by the looks of the old film, this is probably the first update it's had since the attraction opened (not counting the screensaver that plays between showings). I was curious if anybody else had seen it, and how it managed to get by the oh-so-up-to-date interwebs

It was a disaster, but some cool stuff came out of that, like the virtual reality CD of the ride.

Do tell -- living thousands of miles away from any iteration of Pirates, I'd love to get my hands on such a thing.

Originally Posted By DBitz2 I enjoy the Tiki Room not because it's nostalgic, but, simply because I can appreciate "simpler pleasures". Not everything needs to be "exciting". Magic Mountain fills that need quite well. There's been a debate over which new SoCal attraction is the better, Radiator Springs Racers or The Transformers ride at Universal. I'm sure Transformers is technically dazzling and impressive. But, for my money, I prefer the more laid back "old school" appeal of Cars Land and RSR's. Not everything has to be "exciting" to be fun and enjoyable. One of the things that I like about the Disney parks is that there is a variety of types of attractions. If everything is excitement inducing, it becomes stimulus overload and ultimately too exhausting for me.
