Best places to sit on the plane? Also, if you have any helpful tips about the ear pain, they would also be appreciated. BTW, we are flying to Disneyland, just so everyone knows why I posted here!! Thanks for any and all hints.

But I did notice that I had trouble with my vision, only for things really close up, but it went away as soon as I took the patch off. (And that is a normal side effect-blurred vision) but it didn't effect my vision for seeing everyday things, I was fine and barely noticed it.

The Earplanes didn't work for me, but "Mack's Earplugs" (or similar brand, found in any drugstore) are a soft, moldable product that you fit into your ear prior to take-off and leave there the entire flight These seem to work better for me than anything else. I still experience pain, but not nearly as severe as without them. My doctor also prescribes Zyrtec to clear my sinus and ear passages. You could probably use any over the counter decongestant as well.
    Good luck!

As for motion sickness, I like Bonine, which is, I believe, the same thing as the non-drowsy formula of Dramamine. It truly is completely non-drowsy, and it's chewable, which is handy if you have to take it unexpectedly. If anyone in your party has really severe motion sickness that doesn't respond to the over-the-counter stuff, you might ask your doctor for a prescription for phenergan before you go. It does make most people quite sleepy, but I'd far rather be sleepy than throwing up.

I don't normally feel airsick on large airliners - it's only during heavy turbulence that it bothers me at all and then I can get past it if I put my head back and close my eyes. But the next time I need to take anything for motion sickness, I'm going to try the ginger pills.

And thanks for the posts on the ear remedies! I've always wondered what to do while I'm sleeping and not awake to yawn. :)
