It can also vary by water levels and the weight in the log. One trip we got pretty soaked, but most of the time it is not bad. Kali River Rapids is just luck. I've gone on it and only gotten a little wet and then another time I went on it and couldn't have gotten any wetter if they had turned the firehoses on me. Be prepared to get soaked on Kali!!! If it is cold and we want to stay dry but still ride Kali, we just wear rain panchos.

The cold is uncomfortable but it does make it more exciting. When we stay at a Disney hotel (at the Disneyland Resort they are all closeby) we do it at the end of the day and can just go back to our room to warm up. When we don't have that luxury, we put our jackets (and I suppose you could store a change of clothes too) in a locker and then go ahead and enjoy the ride. Remember that your shoes can get soaked too, so you might want to wear flip flops for the ride. Ponchos would kind of ruin the rapids experience for me, and I've used ponchos in the rain and still got wet. So I'd still put my jacket and shoes in the locker.

Just as we were heading to the first lift, a log dropped and the water cannon totally drenched all but the last row of my log. I mean completely soaked everyone. Hilarious!!!

Guys have an advantage on Kali as we can take our shirts off and stow them in the water proof container in the middle of the raft. Then at least we have something dry to put on. Its not uncommon to see people wearing trash bags or ponches to keep dry on Kali. Check to see if those attractions will be open, I know Splash should be open in December but not sure what the schedule is for Kali. Oh course getting wet at WDW is all relative. There was one time when I was on Big Thunder Mountain and the train car I was riding in was stopped for a good 5-10 minutes directly under the waterfall, I got soaked.

I always take the precaution of wearing a large hooded windbreaker that will cover me to mid thigh. I don't care if my lower legs get soaked, as long as everything from the vital crotchal area ® and above is covered! We also always make Kali the last ride of the day so that if we do get soaked we will be back at the hotel soon. <<--- Not a big fan of the soggy underwear walk.>> Agree 100%. I got soaked on a local raft ride and have never spent such a miserable day in my life! My upper thighs were rubbed raw by the time I got home.

DH and boys will wear swimming trunks.
