Tempest and I challenge each other for best score on TSMM and BLAB over in DL. I think I currently hold the title for TSMM, but she currently has the BLAB high score.

Of course I might be prejudiced since I have to have a castle with my fireworks!
I also would like to mention I recently viewed the fireworks from the new WDW Bay Lake Tower-Top of the World. The fireworks are realy close and I am only mentioning this because my eyes witnessed the center of the firework explosion and the detail is something I have never seen before.

I have to say that I was not fond of the concept when it was first announced, but I admit that it's much better than I thought it would be. It could have easily been done without the required character tie-in, but that's only a minor quibble in this case.

Dabob2's pic says "Toy Story" and below it "Midway Mania"

Now if I read the sign the name of the ride could be:
Toy Story, Midway Mania or Toy Story Midway Mania.

So what is the official name?

    of course YES.

There is a glaring conflict as to which is the real name of the ride. Disneydotcom says one thing and the sign says another. So which is correct since they are both Disney sanctioned and issued?

The official name of the attraction at both DCA and DHS is Toy Story Midway Mania! This is the name that the Imagineers gave the attraction. This is the name on both marquees.

For marketing and media purposes - it was decided to that Midway was dropped from the name - which it has been said is due to a belief that people may not know what a Midway is.

It could be that the name was deemed too long and not punchy enough- though Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain - or my personal favourite: The Walt Disney Story featuring Great Moments with Mr Lincoln certainly give it a run for its money.
