Does anybody else remember when the Magic Kingdom had TWO riverboats? The Admiral Joe Fowler (may it rest in peace) and Richard F. Irvine (now the Liberty Belle). That was back when the riverboats were MAJOR attractions in the park!

Please let the Liberty Belle return! Otherwise, why even have the Rivers of America without anything but the Tom Sawyer Rafts? (Shudders at the thought...)

BTW, I don't for a second that even the current management in Orlando would ever take away, or be allowed to, the paddlewheeler.\

It's wonderful to ride this around the river right before the sun goes down. It's so relaxing, and the narration takes you back to a simpler time.

That piece of land is far too large to exist without the boat. There is really no logical explination for it leaving. I think even WDW would see it as a bad move to leave that spot empty for so long, since it is pretty much the focal point for Frontierland and Liberty Square, instead of just a nice backround and great attraction like 20K. The boat is too important to just get rid of.

Agreed. It's part of the fabric of Frontierland. I just wish there were at least two boats on the river. That way one could go down for refurb and there would still be traffic.

I believe the ferry boat Joe Fowler was added to the ferry fleet later and was named for Fowler after the dry dock disaster, but I could be wrong.

1000 years from now someone will do an archeological dig at the Disney site and find the most amazing things

Yeah- it looked pretty similar to the Mark Twain at DL. And of course, the Liberty Belle used to be the Richard F. Irvine.
