The shopping choices are not for me. Bar Louie has a GREAT Happy Hour, 4 to 7 PM Monday thru Friday,

I have since eaten at their Cheesecake Factory. WONDERFUL! It's a HUGE version. Tall ceilings! Stores? Check back in 1 or 2 years. They only have a fraction of shops open. And they are in the line of your small specialty boutique. Nothing on the scale of Gap, or Banana Republic. >>Is it thriving or is it slow and a waste of time?<< If you are hungry ... the strip of restaurants laid out on Kattella should wet your appetite! Their theater complex is nice! They have a bowling alley. If you are looking for "happening" crowds to give you that "Is it thriving" feeling that you are asking for ... you may be disappointed! Remember only a fraction of the place is up and running .. with what is opened ... sporadically placed throughout the complex. So whatever people you find .. are sporadically placed. If you walk into the bowling alley on the "basement" level .. I'm sure you'll find it 'happening'.

Anyway, I was at the mall at 6 PM last Thursday. It appeared that the only seating inside Bar Louie were high small round tables with bar stools. I didn't go inside because everyone I could see looked like they were there to drink and watch sports on TV. I felt uncomfortable pushing a stroller in there. Outside, there were larger, lower tables, but the handful of people out there were smoking, drinking, and watching sports on TV. I saw 15-20 patrons, but none were eating food. Wound up eating at CPK *yawn*. And drinking - $9 for a Tanqueray martini - yikes!

At the Disneyland Hotel, the Lost Bar is next to the Never Land Pool, and they allow smoking at the outside bar stools and the tables outside. The tables inside are all non-smoking.
