The Maliboomer should be going as well, but nobody's really sure what they are replacing it with.

The general changes to the area include retheming Mullholland Madness to Goofy's Sky Skool, and the Sun Wheel to Mickey's Fun Wheel. That will add some buildings around the base of the wheel, and replace the sun face with a giant Mickey head. The Mickey on Screamin' will then be replaced with a big sign for Paradise Pier. General upgrades all around (to make it look more like TSMM does) will also be in store, and Ariel's Grotto will supposedly become the Princess Palace. The Golden Zephyr may or may not get relocated (but it will still be in the park) in order to make better viewing areas for the World of Color show. Viewing areas around the lagoon will also be created as part of the rehabs, and eventually the Little Mermaid omnimover will replace Golden Dreams.

I've seen a lot of different ways to theme swing rides, and the Orange Stinger is definately one of the ugliest ones out there. I guess the orange thing kind of makes it fit, but it totally blocks the view from being even remotely interesting on the actual ride. I think the bee thing might work better if they still had the buzzing sounds and the stingers on the seats (which I never actually got to see first hand). And what ever happened to the orange scent that they supposedly used to have?

True or not, the story was that the scent actually attracted real bees, which it turned out made the ride less fun.

Not sure how accurate this is...

    <a href="http://blueskydisney.blogspot.com/2008/03/blue-sky-alert-america-anaheim-wheels.html" target="_blank">http://blueskydisney.blogspot....els.html</a>

<<Then there is the remodel of the Orange Stinger. This one is going to try and create the feel of an open air swing set you would have found at a turn-of-the-century coastal pier along the lines of what one imagines Santa Barbara would have looked like. Gone will be the giant orange peel and in its place will be... well, nothing really. Don't get me wrong, it's supposed to be themed in detail to a Victorian area ride, but guest will be riding the swings right out in the open. There be flags and canopies around the outer edge and the elevator shaft will have a Victorian roof and siding to give it the borrowed appearance of something more permanent.>>

Also note the article mentions a new structure for the carousel, and has the finishing date for the pier and WOC set for Spring 2010.

As crazy as it sounds it will probably look better and be more fun to ride if they do this.

the WOC viewing will not be around the bay. The viewing will be in the north side. It will have enough almost the same amount of viewing space used for fantasmic. The only diference is that it will not be as choatic to get around the park.

jumping jelley fish and ss rustworthy will be removed and the area left open for future additions. Lots of landscape as a temporary addition.

There is also the whole east side of the pier that will get some theming.
