Movie franchise tie-in aside, this looks like it great. It's Disneyland Resort's very own Wizarding World of Harry Potter in terms of scope and thematic storytelling.

And in terms of scope, it's actually much larger than Potterland. There's just a lot of room to move around in there and explore all the locations. You could spend several hours in there doing the three rides, having something to eat at Flo's, browsing the shops, before you are ready to move on. It will be a giant leap forward for DCA. No wonder Lutz says they are going to be open from 8AM to 11PM next summer; those extra three hours will be needed to experience Cars Land.

This video is obviously a very basic schematic of the place, and it's likely a couple years old at this point. So many details are missing from the images. I do have to wonder how they will shield the view of Pacific Wharf and the Mission Tortilla/Ghirardelli Chocolate building that sits right behind Fillmore and Sarge's places. Especially if that building is reskinned as a version of Ghirardelli's brick and twinkle-light covered chocolate factory in San Francisco.

The mountain range succesfully removed the Anaheim skyline from the park view, but there's a few minor sightline issues they'll have to work around with buildings INSIDE the park. Not sure there's any way to avoid the Tower of Terror, but Pacific Wharf and First Aid and things like that will need some workarounds to keep the Radiator Springs theme going once you step into the land.

I can't wait to see how this all works and how it all looks! I also will be fascinated to see what it does to DCA's overall vibe and operating philosophy.

I've often thought of Buena Vista Street as the sleeper hit of the DCA makeover. The new rides and aesthetic changes and obviously the giant plus of Cars Land are all fantastic. But it's the remade entry complex and DCA's opening act that will really kick DCA into a different league. Those first five minutes a tourist spends walking into a park subconciously sets the tone for the days experience, and the first version of DCA's entry area didn't have a very high bar. Buena Vista Street looks like it will be layered with high quality details, in addition to being this very unique place of idealized Los Angeles in the 1920's. It will be as foreign and exotic, yet familiar and approachable, as Main Street USA circa 1905 was to audiences of the late-middle 20th century.

Buena Vista Street may not have E Tickets, but it's going to do just as much to reinvent DCA as Cars Land will.

I think we can predict this. We have plenty of Disney fans around who think that the 1967 Tomorrowland was the greatest thing ever. I suspect that the attitudes might be the same.

The sun icon was a beautiful piece of art, but it's minuscule dimensions was inadequate and hardly the kind of thing that should be the focal point of a theme park entrance, especially one built and owned by Disney. From what I know so far it's easy for me to imagine myself spending an afternoon just exploring the shops, restaurants, and attractions of BV Street and Carsland without spending time in any other areas of the park, and I can definitely see choosing a day at DCA over DL on a future single day visit to the resort.

Totally agree with this, TP2000. You don't often get a second chance to make a good first impression, but the new entrance area will do just that.

Oh, and Carsland looks like it'll be really cool, too.

It's fun to fill in a lot of those missing elements by looking at this image:

Why? It's the first time that anyone outside of Disney has had the chance to "walk through" the project. It's a entirely different perspective and experience than looking at the land from above in concept art, don't you think?

That will make a DL trip this Dec, a WDW trip next June, and another DL trip sometime next fall...what an awesome year!!!!

I agree. Without the detail, this doesn't match Potter. With detail, it might. Looks a lot like Sunset Boulevard at MGM, if you ask me.

Substitute a huge delapidated hotel with a huge mountain range, and it's very Sunset Blvd-ish.
