HONG KONG Disneyland would be unable to cope with the influx of visitors from the mainland during the golden week holidays following the National Day, the tourism industry predicted Tuesday.

Michael Wu Sui-ieng, chairman of the Hong Kong Association of Travel Agents, said it was estimated that half of the 650,000 mainland visitors coming to Hong Kong between September 30 and October 10 would visit the theme park.

This means almost 330,000 mainlanders would visit the park in 11 days, stretching Disney's capability of 30,000 people a day.

Wu said travel agents would give tour groups priority when arranging tickets, but there would be little they could do for individual visitors if there were not enough tickets. They urged Disney to consider allocating more thickets to tourists during "golden week" as Hong Kongers could visit the theme park at other times.

Personnally, I find most guests at TDL to be respectful and cordial (and NEVER line cutting--I remember once this guy accidently cut me in Pooh as I was drinking from the fountain and I got so many apologies from the guy, I thought he threw my camera in the water or something). But hey, I'm from Compton and live in Korea, rudeness is a different level for me ;). You know I'm never up early enough to get in for the mad rush crowds lol, so for *MY* experience, TDR guests are fine most of the time.

How would you compare the HKDL guests since you been, but based on some of those reports (which Leemac says is mostly lies or exaggerations from many of the Chinese papers about the park) are they really exaggerating? Because if they aren't, reason #15 not to enter this park anytime soon and I DON'T take likely to line cutting!!!

An entire family of 4 walked pass a few of us and positioned themselves ahead of us. I thought they were catching up with the rest of their party but it ws obvious after a while that it was not the case... They just walked to the front and stood there. However... there are other things I did find quite rude and out of control at HKDL... At Most shows they ask thatyou turn off cells and pagers and NO flash photography. That is not the case and CMs do not seem to enforce those rules... During "Golden Mickeys", some chinese older gent behind me disturbed everyone by not only receiving a cellphone call (with loud ring ring) but also talking loudly on the cell for about 30 secs until I turned and went "SHHHHH!" at him. Also, flashed were going off every second at "Golden Mickeys" and "Lion KIng".

On a separate note, I noticed some guests disrespecting the posted safety rules... For example, during my ride on the train around the park, I saw several guests standing up and leaning over the railing to take pictures while the train was in motion. Not one single time did a CM come on the PA to address the situation and ask that guests remained seated when the train was in motion. Only during the JC ride, did I witness the skipper CM actually ask a guest to be seated during the ride. On Space Mountain, NO one was told to take hats or glasses during the final boarding inspection before the ride began. On my 2nd ride, the sunglasses being worn by the woman in front of me, landed on my lap half way thru the ride. They could have hit me on the face and poke an eye out!!!

    ...And those are my observations..

But the cast was giving inconsistent instructions at times. During the Lion King, one gentleman was told that he could not use his video camera, but the announcement said "no plash photography or videotaping with lights." It's clear to me that whoever wrote the spiel did not intend to prohibit photography in general, but only that which generated its own light.

Just one example - The train was stopped suddenly during the trip around by Adventureland. Guests were leaning out over the sides!!! An announcment was made to sit down before moving but then everyone started standing up!!!!! Mad!!!! We waited for about 5 minutes before moving to the Fantasyland Station!

The older generation seem to be the worst offenders!

The Chairman of the Organizations Choi Hin To told reporters the theme of this year's fireworks display is "Unity" and "Joyfulness", which carries a strong message to encourage local people to contribute to the stability and prosperity of Hong Kong.

According to the organizer, the fireworks display with a cost of 3 million Hong Kong dollars has 12 scenes and will last 23 minutes, including the 9th scene "One World One Dream", wishing the Beijing Olympic Games a great success and the last scene "Love our Motherland", wishing all the bests to the home country and Hong Kong."
