I don't remember the past spiels pointing out everything you can see or having long drawn out details of the different sites.
the worst parts was when the boat passed the native american village and the backside of the island.
With the native american village, we got how they called the boat in their language, how they work together, that the shaman was probabaly telling the story of the flute. (how they got that i don't know)Also interspersed in there was a mark twain antedote about marriage. i didn't understand the point of that. what the boat is named mark twain, so they have some kind of refrence to twain?
then when you get to the back of the island, you get this really complicated back story to why they are pirates on tom sawyer island. i think it was something along the lines that Tom Sawyer was not playing, but he was the island's first pirate, he discovered the island. what? it didn't seem like this part of the spiel was really needed, they already adknowledged when they first past the island, that there were pirates off of New orleans.
I think they need to give up on the complicated back story of the island.
the other thing is some of the background music sounds more southwestern than southern.

The Shaman is actually holding a flute and they mentioned that he was probably telling the story of it in the previous spiel as well.

It's supposed to be Mark Twain and the Riverboat Captain speaking. I'll have to hear the new spiel to judge, but the only thing you mentioned that seems new is the bit about Pirates on the Island and maybe the Marriage story.

I think you mean "anecdote". An "antidote" for marriage would be a divorce. I'm pretty sure Mark Twain wasn't giving divorce advice. :)

They really think they need a story so badly now. IT clutters stuff up.

Their best stuff has no real story. By trying to cram story into these things, they cause them to be overwrought.
