The Toys For Tots program was founded in 1947. In 1948 it gained the cute graphic logo that it still uses today: a whimsical red three-car train (engine, boxcar, caboose), each car emblazoned with one of the words in "Toys For Tots." That logo was drawn by Walt Disney.

Warren Beatty had collected wonderful elements for the "More" number in Dick Tracy: a great song written by Stephen Sondheim; a perfect performer for it in Madonna; and incredible sets, costumes and visuals. But something seemed to be lacking as he watched the daily rushes of that scene. He finally figured out what "punch" it was missing. He got on the horn.
