Our trip was to be Thursday, 2/9-Saturday, 2/11. I booked my rental car on 2/7 and got a great rate. Booked my hotel on 2/8 with the Comfort Inn & Suites on 300 Katella and got a great rate there.

We left Reno at about 11:30 Wednesday night and arrived to our hotel at about 8:30 on Thursday morning. Much to my surprise they told us our room was ready and we could check in early! 6 HOURS EARLY! The staff was very polite and helpful. When we requested extra pillows and a new remote for the TV they were very prompt in getting them for us.

We headed over to the park with our tickets purchased at Safeway and had no trouble at the gate. We passed security with our snacks in our bag and headed in for our first day of too much fun!

Because it was a weekday none of the lines were long at all. We nearly walked on to almost every attraction. The kids we had with us were 8, 5 and 2, so we had to vary what we were doing at any given time so as to include them all on a regular basis. But the older ones were able to enjoy all the coasters and we all enjoyed Fantasy Land together. My 2yo is a huge train nut, so he was a bit disappointed to see TMR pass by w/o him, but when we got on the Disneyland RR he was thrilled. He loved every minute of that one.

I noticed several changes since I'd last been there, like the already-discussed POTC stuff and WTP (which my 2yo enjoyed despite not being able to see much over the sides or front of the vehicle).

We'd purchased some scented bubbles at the dollar store for in-line entertainment, but since there were no lines I was afraid they might go to waste. But it turns out that while the big kids were on Splash Mountain, the 2yo and I got much enjoyment out of them.

Others were, too, as they walked by trying to pop them or chase them - it was so much fun!

A little girl was also waiting with her mother for someone, and had been chasing the bubbles and dancing with them for a while when I realized we had an "extra" bottle...so I gave them to her. Cotton Candy scented bubbles brought a big smile to her face and it was so nice to pass that along.

We played and played in the park until about 7pm and then we headed back to our hotel and slept hard until the next morning when day 2 of fun began!
