However, neither the book nor movie saw this as a good thing. I imagine the show will do the same. It shows how way too much pressure is put on these kids. This story is fascinating on a sociological level.

I really like the feel of taking in the entire town, not just one narrative path. How would you like to perform your job while the town was talking about you non-stop on the radio? Intimidating, to say the least. I'm really looking forward to next week's episode.

I tried to explain why but I couldn't because the show was on so I told her I had to call her back after the show.
Originally Posted By danyoung I grew up in a small town, and now live in Texas, so I can really relate to the whole town vibe of this show (although Jerome, Idaho wasn't nearly as rabid about football!). I also love how the wife is slowly getting sucked in by the town wives. Great characters, great story so far.

I'm sure the music and cinematography choices have something to do with that. But it's also the great story and acting. I like that every show doesn't end in a game. I like that the characters seem real, and yet their is enough of an air of royalty that the tragedy of the show plays real too. Can't recommend Friday Night Lights enough.
