Iris Cory Carrington Delaney Bancroft Wheeler? They shoulda done each category all its own, then maybe other great ones would've had a chance.

I've always considered Vader the quintessential villain in many ways. I don't see how he can't rank in the top 3 or so of just about anyone of these lists. Pennywise is an awesome villian - again, assuming we're talkin' book and not lame-o tv series. Anything with Biff Tannen on the list gets my respect. Lastly, I think the femme fatales of film noir are inevitably ripped off when it comes to these kinds of lists. Here's just a few that top many of the villains on this list: • Barbara Stanwyck as Phyllis Deitrichson in Double Indemnity • Mary Astor as Bridgette O'Shaughnessy in Maltese Falcon • Claire Trevor as Helen Grayle in Murder My Sweet • Jane Greer as Kathie Moffat in Out of the Past And c'mon, no Roy Batty from Blade Runner?!?

I read this list and, for the most part, I agreed with their choices. I was very happy with their selection of the Joker as #1. They were mainly going with the comic Joker, not the film, and it was an excellent choice. As Wizard said about the Joker (and I'm vastly paraphrasing here as I don't have the issue in front of me), there are few as scary as the Joker because he doesn't murder and destroy because of a mental disorder or out of some twisted vengeance, he does it because he truly thinks chaos is funny.
