My wife, my seven yr old and I have been countless times but this will be the first for our almost two year old. I expect crowds but I am just trying to minimize as much as possible. Thank you for any help anyone can give me.

Just keep in mind that the parks will not be opened late and some of the shows and parades may not be scheduled.

Disneyland guest relations said when I called today that they dont have the official dates but its usually the first week in October till the 2nd week in November that it is closed. My wife is adamant that it is open because it will be our 2 yr olds first trip.

No word yet on Small World closures & openings.

A few years ago we went around Veteran's day when it fell on a Monday. We opted to go to another theme park on Veteran's day, but my parents were there and according to them -even with the pouring rain- it was PACKED. Tuesday though the crowds were very light- not to mention the sun finally came out which was an added bonus :). I think it's a nice time of the year to go- just a darned struggle every time with the schools for us with school-aged children :p.

The actual reason for going is I'm doing a monday-tuesday session with the LA Reporters Clinic to make a resume tape, but how can we go all the way down there without making a DL trip of it?

Hmmm, my calendar shows it's on Saturday November 11th. If schools are off, I'm sure it'll be busier than a regular weekend.

I'm not trying to talk you out of it or anything, but you may want to prepare for a busy weekend. At least through Monday. (I'm not sure if schools will get the Friday or Monday off)

Before I hit submit I checked a few school calendars. It looks like some are taking the Friday & some the Monday. (Our district is taking Friday)

Our school district has the Friday off as does my district (I work at a college).
