Gas prices are pretty high right now and probably will only go higher until summer is over.

We left yesterday from Kirkland at 10am, since there were forecasts of snow in the late evening in southern OR through northern CA. Thankfully we missed the snow, if there was any. We only hit rain and lots of wind. We actually arrived this morning at 8:30am since we hit LA morning rush hour and there were a couple of traffic accidents. So it took us 22 1/2 hours. We were very lax about bathroom breaks and meals since we have a 5 & an 8 yo. We took our minivan and it averaged 22 mi/g. So it cost us about $150 one way with gas averaging $3 a gallon. We didn't bother with spending the night somewhere since we wanted to get here as soon as possible. We'll probably overnight somehwere in Northern Ca on the trip back home. We had a dual dvd in our van so our kids were entertained. We packed lots of dvds and videos (old & new)and our kids were good troopers. We even managed to hit the parks this morning and are relaxing this afternoon back in our hotel room before heading back into the park. Dh and i did share the driving. Dh has 9 days off work so time was not an issue on this trip. We have 6 days of in-park time. If time is an issue then take a plane. This was our first roadtrip to disneyland will probably do it again. Probably not every trip though. We do enjoy taking a plane on shorter trips

I'm gonna be IN Disneyland in 10 hours!" About 20 hours though, 22 tops. Straight shot on I-5. Have fun fellow Seattlelight!

Our last trip I was so tired our first day at DL that I got a really bad headache and felt terrible. The next time we go, in June, we are leaving in the am and staying the night right before the grapevine. We love a good road trip now that our kids are older. We take plenty of movies, music, and snacks.
