Not only that, but it appears that the whole building was painted too.

I'm sure Disney had it on its 12-year 'To Do' List and my rantings had nothing to do with it getting fixed ... yep, I sure do ;-)

..and what have I been doing in the past 6 yrs on LP? Resting in my laurels? But go ahead as some things are worth repeating over and over, and be prepared to be accused of being "jaded", or having an agenda.

Actually, that is probably (and sadly) a true statement.

BTW, that "nobody" is also a paying guest!

    Right, Jeff.

That explains why they let the doors rot for over a decade.

They always intended to get to it in their 'long range plans', right?

Like many naive people here, you have a lot to learn about how Disney monitors sites like this and certain posters.

Ego has nothing at all to do with it.

I'm quite comfortable with my knowledge on the subject.

I do think it is possible (maybe even likely) that posts here called attention to a problem that had gone unnoticed. I think it is incredibly silly to believe that they were worried about "bad press" over an issue that never had a chance at catching the interest of anyone outside of the most rabid part of the fan community.

And no mainstream media lurks here regularly (right Scott?)

Many story ideas in the media get generated by Disney sites (see LA Times and Tom Sawyer Island for a recent example).

I don't for a second believe Disney was going to take care of something they had been neglecting for 10 years ... yet a few months after I posted it ... the place looks brand new.

You want to call it coincidence? I don't care what it is. I just want Disney to live up to its own standards and do the right thing.

    So, problem solved.

It just goes to show the value in speaking up when you see something wrong. Obviously the various web-footed sites dedicated to Uncle Walt's original dream DO have SOME desired effects. It's just too bad that some ducklings would rather pretend they are ostriches with their heads in the sand instead of speaking up when they see someting wrong. Goslings such as Spirit of 74 are actually trying very hard to preserve the Disney theme parks for future generations. To ridicule him over such a worthy cause and to misunderstand his motives or to treat him as though he were a villain--instead of a champion--just baffles us here in Morva. So before you try to shoot him down for his enlightening messages, ducklings, please try to remember how important individuals--like he--are to all of us. He's an inspiration. If he were as conceited and arrogant as some of you suggest, do you really think he'd waste his time with us? Of course not! He'd be keeping a different sort of company, I assure you.

ORGOCH: Yeah! He'd be part a the Walt Dizzy Whirl Management team that likes ta mess things up without a care. Thinkin' it don't matter t'all! Now THAT's bein' arrogant 'n full a yer dang self!!

In any event, there's no harm in folks harboring a fantasy about their perceived importance in an online discussion group. It probably contributes to their overall mental health in ways that expensive sessions with a psychiatrist and prescription medications can't achieve.

In any event, there is harm in going out of your way to misjudge someone who is actually doing some good in the world. Over time it turns a sweet little duckling into an old toad with no sense of why it's important to preserve the beauty and dignity of a once-proud company founded by One Walt Disney.

I personally have had a lot of influence in how Disney does things. Heck, I own five shares of stock, something I am sure to tell them every time I go there. (I like the special treatment).

Some examples of how I have affected change are as follows:

I said I liked 20K and shortly after it disappeared. I said that I liked Timekeeper and low and behold, it's history. I liked the original Imagination ride and it was promptly changed. I said that I loved World of Motion and all of a sudden it was replaced by a bunch of cars that go fast, fast around the track. Heck, I even was a little fond of the Arm and Wand.

So anytime you would like something to be gone just tell me and I will say I like it and as quick as you can say, "Bob's your Uncle" it will be toast.

BTW, did I mention how much I love the Pooh Playground? Are ya listening Disney Corp. ;-)
