I just saw the WDW version on Saturday and was surprised by how much fun it was; a friend I was with had seen the DCA show earlier and said that it wasn't nearly as good. Knowing a little bit of the politics between the two resorts, I wonder if the decision to copy this show was handed down from above and the DLR entertainment group scoffed at the idea of using WDW's boring old show and tried to "improve" it. The WDW version was quite enjoyable in part because it was so unassuming; I wonder if the big makeover of the theater in DCA is setting guest expectations a little too high for a simple show

I don't understand why they can't build a permanent Hollywood themed venue to contain these events. Disney is smart to give people something fun to do after dark, but these temporary parties feel too forced. As a multimedia company Disney can be pretty hip at times, but Disneyland? Not so much. "Let's just agree that Disney can't do "Dance Parties" right and let them move on to something else." They do them right for a specific demographic - older suburban teens and college students. When I went to MTP it was pretty decent, and I'm picky when it comes to that sort of thing. The biggest problems I have with it is the set up intrudes on the the back lot theme during the day, and I feel like a damn senior citizen when I walk through the crowd.

They've been having these events for the better part of 5 years now, so I think that they could justify the expense of retractable equipment And I'm personally disappointed that Mad T Party is returning. While I really enjoyed GlowFest and ElecTRONica, Mad T never did anything for me; it just felt noisy and annoying. I don't know if I'd like the current Frozen one any better, but at least it would be different than the same nonsense they've been doing for the last 3 years now
