Over the past couple years Dusty Sage et al have parroted rumors from Jim Hill that have no basis in reality, such as the impending demolition of Toontown and Dusty Sage's constantly nagging that Disney needs to build a third gate, which would be logistically difficult, and now Miceage has "Disney Babe" a Jim Hill website founder who, despite being told otherwise, pretends that a third gate is coming and that the +$1 billion project is just a parking garage even though Disney already released a myriad of projections for the expansion . . . please. Jim Hill folks already post as WDW74/Lee on WDWMagic, regurgitating the same rumors, and now one of their ilk is running Miceage's (admittedly often bogus) rumors section as well? Here's some of the Micage Nagging: ****Dusty Sage: Not only would a 3rd park be great for guest experience as a whole, it would be fantastic for Disney's bottom line. Longer stays = more room nights sold at hotels, more tickets sold, more merchandise, meals, etc. It's a big win for everyone. With both Disney and DCA reaching their capacity positions, a 3rd park is rapidly becoming a necessity. the next decade should be a very interesting one for Disney fans.**** Sure Dusty, whatever you say, nevermind that once you put in ticketbooths and backstage areas the size of space available for a third gate in the Toy Story parking lot is actually not that big. I guess Dusty doesn't know that Disney already announced a $1 billion expansion for an existing theme park. *****Disney Babe: I suspect it's far enough down the road to warrant a different budget altogether. As huge of a number as it seems, once all that infrastructure (which is desperately needed) is put in, and whatever themed stuff that is going to happen on top of it happens, then they'll go to the board and ask for more money.***** Whatever stuff is going to happen?!? I guess Disney Babe is saying what we already know, that the +1$ billion isn't a third gate, and still "suspects" that a third gate is coming . . . sure. She is also possibly peaved that Simba is happening (if Jim Hill even knows), perhaps poo-pooing the connection over West St that will be built by suggesting that it will let guests bypass DTD to the chagrin of the merch folks. LOL. The expansion in Simba will increase traffic through DTD if for no other reason that a lot more guests will be staying in the hotels over there and attending the parks in general, and SWLand will sell a ton of merchandise, probably more than DTD, so there's that too! A lot Miceage's past rumors, post Al Lutz especially, were just complaing about attractions they want removed for more Universal stuff, but now it seems that Miceage is just another outlet for Jim Hill folks to disseminate their fabricate rumors which are worse as they don't really understand Anaheim all that well.

That's pure hogwash. There are plenty of people out there who fit that mold, but those two are long time west coasters

Do you actually believe that The Walt Disney company has not done plenty of studies in regards what they can and can not build in the property they own? The same property that they themselves have labeled as a third gate expansion pad in many publications for the last 20 years. That property is actually the size of DCA and could easily hold a third gate with minimal backstage infrastructure. The only reason that Disneyland has a large backstage infrastructure is because it houses many office and structures that do not need to be onsite. Disney already has moved several of their mom necessary backstage storage areas of site because they are not necessary for same day use. Even the two gates bakery has been moved offsite and delivers what is necessary only. So all you are doing is speculating on what can and can't be done. Secondly Disney has NOT announced a 1 billion expansion for an existing gate. Disney clearly said that they would invest 1 billion in expansion of the resort but that they did not have final plans on whether it wood be in an existing gate or for what. I enjoy reading your posts because they are fun reading but I think they would be better if wrote about the rumors that you have "heard" instead of just writing to attack other people and say their rumors are false. After all that is why they are called rumors because their info just like yours could be inaccurate

However regardless of where they live, both of them are quite familiar with DLR and the unique challenges it poses

It has been a really long time since much of anything new was added at DL Park other than the new Fireworks Show and Parade (which I realize is quite significant). I see the money that is being spent used for improved infrastructure and upgrades to existing areas, not creation of a new one. Both Anaheim parks are already close to capacity for much of the year. They don't need to attract new guests, they need to give those they presently have a better experience. This can be done by better utilizing space that presently exists towards the back of the park. Since DCA recently received a huge, costly, and well-received renovation, I don't see a huge amount being done there either for awhile. Goodbye Simba fantasies. I don't have inside information on ANYTHING. Just a little common sense and the unemotional evaluation of what really should happen to a park that I don't have a huge emotional investment in.
