My younger brother (20) and his girlfriend flew in on Thursday night. It was our first time meeting here and she was just a doll.

She had never even been to California let alone a Disney park so of course we had to take her. She was asking Josh which park he liked better, Disneyland or Knotts Berry Farm, (because we were going to Knotts on Saturday) and Josh explained to her "Knotts is for the thrills but Disneyland is for the memories." Ahhhh... well done, Baby Brother.

We got up early on Friday and ate a nutritious breakfast of pop-tarts (Hey... they were low-fat!)and headed out to Disneyland. Hooray!! Unfortunatly traffic on the 91 freeway sucked and it really slowed us down but it gave Jordyn and chance to take a nap as she was still tired from our late night of "getting to know each other" from the evening before.

We finally got to the Mickey and Friends parking lot (Daisy level) and took the tram to the main entrance. Our stop was to get Jordyn a "First Visit" button. The line was long at City Hall so Mark (with his infinate wisdom) took us to the wait time board to get one there. Once Jordyn was all buttoned up we headed to Space Mountain which we all enjoted quite a bit. Then we did Star Tours and Buzz (I beat Mark again!!! In fact I think I beat everyone. Go me!).

We were all getting hungry by this time (low-fat pop tarts were not cutting it I guess) so we thought about doing a character breakfast or Carnation Cafe but one was too expensive and the other was too long of a wait. So we went to Indy and Pirates instead. Pirates ended up being one of Jordyn's favorite ride. Josh was especially impressed with the Jack Sparrow AA's. After the pilaging and looting we decided to eat lunch at Cafe Orleans. We all ordered Monte Cristos and Josh and Mark wouldn't listen to me about sharing! I ate about one triangle before I was done in. It was so good but so rich. Our friend Matt met us there as we finished eating and I tried to make him eat the rest of my sandwich but he wouldn't. So it went to waste. Sad!

We headed off to do Mansion. Thankfully no one recited the spiel on the stretching room so Jordyn got to experience it "untainted". The J's (Josh and Jordyn) rode in their own Doombuggy and Mark, Matt and I squeeeeeeezed into one. After Mansion (and after peeling ourselves from the ride vehicle), we took a quick spin on the Pooh ride and a Potty stop. Then we headed to Splash which, thanks to Mark, didn't take us much time at all to get on. ;o)

I think it was around this time we headed to DCA. We worked the system and got Fast Passes for Soarin' and GRR. We rode on Screamin' and then cups of ice water at Pizza Om Mow Wow (and I spilled ice all over the place). We stopped for a Tortilla (lame corn ones) and watched the little boy in the video who reminds me of Josh when he was little. Next it was time for Mark's favorite ride... Donkey Punch to the Kidneys... AKA Its Tough to be a Bug. We decided to do GRR before it got to late and cool. Somehow Josh and I seemed to get the wettest. I had a huge wave of water splooshed right in my lap. Then we froze ourselves on Soarin'. Such a fun ride! Next we hit Tower of Terror and saw Sully come out from back stage and shake his booty.

We passed the Hyperion theater right as they were seating for Aladdin. Jordyn had mentioned that she really wanted to see Aladdin and Jasmine earlier in the day so we opted to catch the show.

We all were getting hungry again (Matt more so than the rest of us since he wouldn't eat my sandwich I offered him!.)We decided to try a place that was new to all of us. We went to Storytellers. We all got the buffet. It was so delish! Josh loved the prime rib and Mark liked the bathrooms with "mood lighting" as he called it. After dinner (and a mess with the bill because the waiter didn't split the bill like we asked) we rode Monsters Inc and then head back to Disneyland.

We went on Matterhorn, its a small world and the Tea Cups (and got to see a little of the fire works too) before heading to see Fantasmic! where Mark had gotten us primo seats in the VIP section. The show was awesome. It had been a long time since I saw it. After the crowd cleared we went on Jungle Cruise. We had a really good skipper named Greg. I need to remember to write a compliment for him. Then we went to wait in line for Nemo. Suburban Legends were playing at Tomorrowland Terrace so we got to listen to them too. The line was only about 45 minutes so it wasn't that bad. After swimming with the fishies Matt bought the magic smoke stuff from the Magic Store on Main Street that smells so gross. The guys had fun with that. We headed home and Josh and Jordyn fell asleep in the car.

On a side note: we went to Knotts the next day and it was just so packed and their lines move so slow we hardly got to do anything at all there. Not that it wasn't fun! I had a great time with them and we've even convinced them to come to WDW with us in February! I know Jordyn is a keeper because we heard her talking on the phone the day they left. She was talking to her mom and she told her how she liked Disneyland so much more than Knotts because it was so magical.

I have pictures from the weekend on my Flickr site (which can be found in my profile).

Knotts was packed? Is this because it is summer?
The last time I went was in October of 2005 and it was like a ghost town in there.
I'm going to go try to look at your pictures. I love pictures-especially of Disneyland!
    Thanks for the great report!

Ah, to be young enough to go commando style!

Your little brother can't be that old. Unless, of course, you are "getting on" as well.

Getting squeezed 'tween those guys in HM will probably make you too thin, so next time tell one to ride solo.

One more thing, who has been helping you with your spelling? No Tiggirlisms.

Dave, her favorites were Pirates, Mansion and Screamin'. She also really liked Fantasmic! She had a grin on her face the whole day so I guess that says it all. LOL!

liveforvacations, I don't really think Knotts was all that packed (though it may have been bussier due to the fact that it was a weekend) but since they don't tell people where to sit a lot of seats were going out empty and it made the lines move really slow. Disneyland seemed like it had more people but they do a good job of keeping the lines moving and having more than one train on a roller coaster at a time so I think that helps a lot.

FoDD, he is indeed 20 years old. Which I guess makes me... a little bit older than that. Haha! I also squeeeeezed in the same car with those two guys on Big Thunder. I was pretty smooshed when I got out. LOL!
