Do foods really expire on the expiry date: Depends on the food

In my fridge right now: smokey turkey mole, white turkey chili (both made by me for a friend who just had twins), some Thai food take out, and a bunch of other left overs along with the usual supply of vegetables. Oh, and a bunch of grapes, apples, strawberries and a watermelon for a fruit salad I'm making tomorrow.

Do foods really expire on the expiry date: Rule of thumb: if it has any fat, it goes rancid. If it is dry (like herbs), it ain't worth using because the flavor is gone.

One baking/cooking tip: It isn't a chore. Get the whole family involved and enjoy yourself.

I think that food is something we should all take a lot more time preparing and sharing.
