Ginger Snaps 1 cup sugar 3/4 cup margarine or butter 1/4 cup molasses 1 egg 2 1/4 cup flour 2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp ginger ( I used 1 tsp) 1/2 tsp cloves 1/4 tsp nutmeg 1/4 cup sugar to roll cookies in before baking beat together 1 cup sugar, butter, molasses and egg until light and fluffy Stir in remaining ingredients except 1/4 cup sugar, mix well cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 1 hour for easier handling Heat Oven to 350 Degrees F Shape dough into balls and roll in sugar place on ungreased cookie sheet Bake for 8-12 minutes until set ( I found 8 mins. was enough) Cool 1 minute on pan and move to cooling rack
