It's what makes HM at MK unique to the the other HM's. After watching three video's of the the new Haunted Mansion, I must say this really surpasses all the other mansions. Of course, I still have to ride it to actually rate it.

Noticed that three of the singing busts were frozen -- their faces not moving but still there. Does that make sense?

Years ago, if a singing bust face broke down, it would just be a blank statue. It appears now that if the filmed portion of the face singing breaks down, there's a static image of their face.

Check at the 6:35 point in the video and watch as the Doom Buggy rolls by.

    Anyone know?

But I've had four friends email me and tell me that half the stuff in the MK's Mansion is either not working at all or not working right. Needless to say, they weren't happy spirits.

    Why must they always disappoint?

Would it kill them to have an attraction show ready when they open it ... and then every day thereafter?

Oh, and just a quick note (new thread to follow ... maybe weeks from now) but while I enjoyed the Nemo Subs at DL (yes, today was Ride No. 1) I must say it isn't all that ... and its effects are a strange mix of old tacky with new projections. Overall, it's a good ride. But it ain't great ... or groundbreaking in any way. And it sure isn't what I consider a true E-Ticket ... a nice 'D' is more like that.

Yawn ... time to get some sleep, I hear I'm getting a Lifetime Achievement Award tonight at the Shrine.

The bride/Leota I'd already seen at Disneyland, so that wasn't new for me (or anyone else who has been to DL since they refurbished it). Hopefully they'll have all effects running properly soon. There was a very loud noise in the stretch room when I first went on, probably an audio malfunction.

Although the bride uses same/similar technology to the new one at DL, the actual animation sequence is different. I like this one better. I didn't see the gargoyles move in the stretching room either time I rode it, so they may not be working yet or that part was just a false rumor.

The sound in the stretching room is very well done, from the moving ghost host's apparent location to the deep, loud sounds that are now part of the crashing sound.

The only part that didn't seem to be working was the husbands' heads in the portraits in the attic. They were mostly headless, although I could see a very faint head from certain angles. I assume that the heads are supposed to appear and disappear.

The endless staircases with the footprints, and the illuminated eyes that are part of the wallpaper were really neat to see.

I did think there was "bad show" in the way the attraction was being operated. Both times I rode it, the foyer narration and portrait change was almost complete before I got inside, and in one case, the stretching room began stretching before the door was closed - completely killing the illusion that you are dropping.

Tokyo Disneyland's version features a green canopy over the exterior portion of the queue.

The eerie creaking and ghostly swooshing really added to scene, not to mention the narration has a couple of different takes and lines from the California version (unless my ears deceive me).

But there is a slight problem to me. I know it's just opened again so they may still tweak things but it seemed there were some locations where the lighting was too bright. Mainly in the seance room and the new staircase room, it seemed like the lighting was revealing a little bit of illusions. Along with that there were some odd sound levels in the graveyard.

But besides that (I doubt many will notice), the update is fantastic, and I hope this means we'll get some updates to other attractions in the future.
