There was a press release a few months ago, and I can't remember the name of the company that was building and designing and operating this for Disney. I remember the words "Balinese" were used in describing the atmosphere of this new luxury day spa.

I was surprised that the GCH wasn't designed and built with this type of facility from the beginning. That always seemed to be a huge oversight right from the time the GCH opened 5 years ago. But the GCH is finally getting with the times and offering a fancy day spa. It was originally announced to open in February, 2006, but I haven't heard a word about it lately and it may be behind schedule a bit.

They expanded the massage area to include the new services provided: facials, scrubs, pedicures, manicures. All staff are OPs, not CMs.

There will also be a workout facility...although from what I hear, it's smaller than what was in Eureka Springs...even smaller than the tent where the workout facility is right now.

You can find them at <a href="http://www.mandaraspa.com" target="_blank">http://www.mandaraspa.com</a>

It looks like they also operate a spa at the Swan and Dolphin out at WDW, in addition to one at the Portofino at Universal Orlando. Plus several dozen other spas in resort areas around the world, mostly in the Pacific Rim, which is where I must have got the whole Balinese thing in my head.
