First of all, they've changed the soft drinks from bottles to fountain, and made all of the menu items "combos" with drinks included, rather than having the drinks a la carte. Perhaps too many people were just having water. Another thing that's changed is now that restaurant is advertised as being "100% Halal certified" for all menu items. I didn't notice if other food outlets in the park were that way as well, but I doubt it. I would infer from this that there are enough Muslim guests that adhere to halal dietary requirements that they wanted to accommodate them.

And that's very interesting that they're advertised as Halal. Is that common in Hong Kong in general, or is this somewhat of an exception? I can't say I ever noticed it anywhere when I was there. And I'm not familiar with Halal preparation, but is it something that essentially requires a special kitchen, like true gluten-free cooking would? Or could it be accommodated alongside other preparation?

Also (and I could be wrong here too) I seem to remember Tahitian Terrace being Halal friendly.
