Big Thunder also has a really good balance between thrill and slow times, along with all the stuff to look at. For me, it's definately one of the best rides in the park.

It's also nice to see that the ride is a little bit different in all of the Disney parks. Personally, I like the Paris version best, as it has the long tunnel sequence at the end which provides a more exciting climax to the ride compared to the other versions.

We didn't know where we were going and it was a totally different experience than in the daytime.

I love the "water ride" aspect - on really hot days I lean over the edge (just a tad) to get my head wet as we pass under the subterranean falls I love that there are three big climbs throughout, as opposed to the typical coaster that has just one big climb at the beginning. I love all the animals and the humor they add I love the goat trick I love the dinosaur skeleton I love the music playing at the town when you come in at the finish I love that the line is usually 20 minutes or less I love the views of the park you get at times I love watching the trains zip by while waiting in line, especially when you can see to different trains heading in two different directions I love the smells around the ride, like a hot day in the frontier I love the fact that you sometimes feel you're on a coaster and sometimes on a train I love that there are slow times on the ride where I feel like waving at the spectators, and other times where I get to scream as the train plummets! I love the totally dark part of the ride I love the earthquake room I love riding at night I hate when the ride ends and it is time to get off. I love that I can get right back in line again if I want to!

I refer to the cantilevered rock over the queue which looked like it was being propped up by splintering timbers. Now the timbers look as if they've been "repaired." I will never in all my days forget overhearing a woman in that line some years ago who was genuinely concerned about the rock and who kept going on about how dangerous it was and why they prop up such a thing in such a dangerous manner, yadda, yadda, yadda. It would seem that she isn't the only one. How many others have been duped into thinking that the rock was on the edge of collapse and complained at City Hall about it? Result: One of the cleverest sight gags in Disneyland history has been ruined. Never underestimate the power of the idiot mind.
