I absolutely love it. At the time, they were even selling cars from Mr. Toad's ride, but they were too expensive for me. Oh well, I don't know where I would have put one anyway.

Of course, everyone said the same thing that they couldn't put nicknames on ears. Well, after giving up in DL, we went to DCA. The girls at the hat shop there were AWESOME. They both thought it was hilarious & said they didn't have a problem doing it. Now both LVBelle and I now have a set!

Disneymomof3's husband has one and I ask to see it almost every time I'm over there.

They're part of the family now.

Originally Posted By Walter Elias I guess bringing something home from DL is just that; you're taking a piece of DL home with you. I also agree with wonderingalice that the memories are certainly the best of things. Everytime I walk down Mainstreet with my kids I think about when I was a child. I know that my kids will carry special memories of our trips with them for the rest of their lives. I also think about the generations of people from around the world that have visited DL. The great thing about DL is that we all share a common love for the magic and wonderful times spent there.

But what I truly prize is a small, well worn souvenir bag with a few ticket books and paper items. You see, I kept this from my first (and only) trip to Disneyland in my childhood. In the Summer of 1972 my parents took me to Disneyland for a single day of our vacation, visiting relatives in California. What I most prize are our three ticket books. There are a few coupons left in the two Adult books. But the Junior book is completely empty... of course.

But I think my prized possesion would have to be a caricature drawing of me when I was about 5 years old.(whew, 30 years ago) There was an artist who would sit under his huge umbrella outside of IASW and would do caricatures in like 2 minutes. He drew me sitting on a rocking horse with those awful little glasses I had to wear. Ugh! Does anybody else remember this artist?

Anyway..I just have a few things from the 60's and 70's (caricatures, paper items like DlandDug and two pictures of my family at DL when I was a little girl) The pictures with my own family (as a Mom) are treasures. And there's one memory that will always be my most cherished...just something that would mean the world to me. And it did. xoxo
