Hope everyone is having a wonderful day no matter what or how you celebrate! We are enjoying being part of Seattle's first White Christmas since 2008!!!
WHEEEEE!!!!!! Our 3rd Christmas this year is about to take place. First was in Seattle, then our son's in NorCal on New Year's Eve. Now, the Grandchildren from our town are coming over today. We were supposed to all be in Seattle together but due to the sil's heart attack last month; plans were changed. Thankfully the attack was minor (minor heart attack, what an oxymoron) so we have much to celebrate as we welcome the New Year together. We are all sick of turkey and ham so are looking forward to Kalua Pig and rice.
Sounds great! I hope y'all have a super year. I'm dealing with some issues right now. Hopefully, I can rejoin the LP fun soon.
@Marlin Perkins I hope things sort themselves out for you soon. You are definitely missed around these parts.
I'm not really sure what happened. It did an automatic update and restart. Then, it was acting strange and all my settings were gone. I restarted it and got the blue screen of death--an endless loop of not being able to reset, restore, start in safe mode...nothing. Nothing, that is, except for a command prompt. When you know very little about computers, a command prompt isn't too helpful. As a matter of fact, a lot of "experts" online aren't very helpful either. They all offer vastly different advice. And trying to wade through discussion boards looking for technical answers is frustrating to say the least. Yet, I finally found the solution. Once I got my computer to come on, I wasn't able to sign into my user profile. It kept logging me into a temporary account. All of my settings, files, and most of my programs were missing. My biggest concern was in being able to find all of my files, pictures, etc. A lot of that stuff I hadn't yet backed up onto another drive. Happy ending though. I was able to find all my files and set up another permanent profile. It sure has been a hassle. And, it's especially frustrating when it isn't even my fault. I just wanted to sit here and quietly use my computer. LOL But someone always has other plans. There's always some kind of update or something I have to do just to use the few programs I have.
LOL!!! Luckily I have a son who can handle most problems. I hate those "scheduled" updates. It seems that after each one I have some new problems. Or something that I liked has been changed.
