We stopped by taco bell/pizza hut express, where we were craving pizza but the lady told us that they weren’t serving pizza for the rest of the night. After being disappointed with having to eat taco bell food instead of pizza, we hit every red light possible and some guys in a truck next to us were waving at us and cheering because they were stuffing their faces with taco bell food too. 12:30am and we finally pulled up to my great grandma’s house in Los Alamitos (not without missing the street the first time and having to do an illegal U-turn of course!) We got inside and began to get situated; I whipped out my colorful sharpies and poster board and created my lovely poster that I designed to catch attention at the premiere, while Gina painted her toenails. “Kiss Me! I’m the one and only Keira!†was sprawled across the poster board in big colorful words. I figured it might get the attention of some celebs and maybe TV stations. Happy with my not so beautiful artwork I got in the shower at 1am. 3 hours to go and we would be in line for the premiere. At 1:30 I was ready to go to bed. Gina was already asleep so I tried finding my way through the room in the dark, but of course I had to trip over my bag and nearly break my neck while I was at it. I was so anxious that I could not sleep until 2am, and at 3 am my alarm went off. Our original plan was to leave the house around 3:30 to get to the park by 4 with some time to spare, well after having about 20 minutes of solid sleep behind me, Gina and I were moving really slow, O.k…so Gina moved faster then I did, but still, we were unable to leave the house until 3:50 am. I figured we had plenty of time as I was told by cast members and had been reading around that NO ONE was going to be allowed on Disney property until 4 am. Let me tell you driving down Katella at 4 am makes for the longest drive down a single street ever. I had enough time to get my makeup on and gather up my annual pass and cell phone. Gina dropped me off quickly at the bus stop near Disneyland on Harbor blvd. and I made a mad dash for the line, little did I know what was ahead of me. I made my way up to the shuttle drop off/tram area and my jaw about hit the floor. The line was HUGE, worse then what it had been for the 50th celebration at 4 am. I swear there were probably a good 1000-1500 people in line ahead of me. I began to panic and called Gina, she was parked in line over at the parking structure waiting for it to open at 5am. I asked people that were towards the beginning of the line what time they got there and they all said 1am-2am. After hearing this I was so irritated and annoyed with Disney and the way they handled it after telling not only me, but everyone I talked to around me, that no one would be allowed on property before 4am. We could have just gone straight to Disney when we arrived there at midnight and been some of the first people in line. I got a whole 20 minutes of sleep for nothing. I was convinced that with this many people ahead of me, that Gina and I stood no chance what so ever of getting a decent spot for the premiere. I was nearly in tears from lack of sleep, stress and extreme disappointment that I was ready to turn around and just go home. I decided to stick it out and slowly but surely I made it through the bag checkpoint. I headed for the shortest line possible at the gates and claimed my ground. Once everyone in the line had been split up into the several lines at the gates, the lines didn’t seem too bad. We ended up just a few feet behind the monorail track near one of the planters. We stood a chance after all; we came so far and I was willing to see what would happen. After some standing around, 6:30am was getting closer. The lines went all the way back to California Adventure and then some, after seeing everyone else way back there made me feel even better about the spots we had. The countdown began and the gates opened. Our line started out moving quickly but then for some unknown reason the line slowed down to a stopping point and all we could do is watch everyone else around us dash through the turnstiles and under the bridge. Gina and I started to panic yet again but the line began moving, I handed everything to Gina and told her I was making a run for it and I would catch up with her once she got through. I grabbed a stack of 20 park maps (for everyone at work that couldn’t go) on my way in as well as a premiere button and ran for it. ***Picture Break*** Me in line at 6am, looking bright and cheery after 20 minutes of solid sleep with only PART of one line behind me. http://img.photobucket.com/alb ums/v288/BeautiflMystry/Myspace/6am.jpg More of the line(s) at 6am...it was still growing! http://img.photobucket.com/alb ums/v288/BeautiflMystry/Myspace/100_4087.jpg ****Back to the scheduled report**** As soon as I went under the bridge, I was confronted with a setup that was completely unexpected and not what I had been imagining. My original plans of grabbing a seat near barricades in front of the main street station were diminished as they had that entire area blocked off for lighting and press. Ahead of me there were a giant set of beachers set up and one little area that had already been claimed by those who went through the gate ahead of me. Looking further down the way it looked like every seat had been filled within my eyes reach, so desperate times called for desperate measures. I hopped quickly into the bleachers that sat in front of the fire house and claimed my own section for Gina and I in the second row. The bleachers all around me filled up within a matter of 3 minutes and I called Gina to tell her where I was at, she had walked right past me and made her way to the end of Main Street where she could find no seating. I told her I was in the bleachers and we were just going to have to deal with it, if we got up to find a better spot we would have lost our only seats and we really would have missed out.
