We stayed at FQ last trip and really liked it but trying to decide if the Pop would be just as fun and save us a little $$ too.. We have kids 9 and 12!

Also can you still get a frig for your room on request?

The bus situation is pretty decent and IMO the resort is just as spread as POFQ the food courts good (both have a specialty dessert thats great)

The fridge's do cost (I believe its 10 bucks a day) so that would be a factor but the big can of play doh may make up for it.. :)

$10.00 a day.. WOW! That would be an extra $100.00 for our stay. Guess maybe bringing the fold-up cooler bag might work just as well. Just want to keep drinks cold and some milk.

THe architecture looks like it was designed by children. THe front desk and food court stops every morn at 8am to do the Twist and at 6pm to do the Hustle. I usually pay extra for the preferred lo cation or "request a room close to the 60s Hippy Dippy pool. Every morn the lifeguards start their shift wearing tye-dyed wigs and ask a child to officially declare the pool open. For some reason this resort makes me happy as the Magic Express makes the turn into the hotel entrance. Children are greeted with chalk and hula hoops. The food court is good and is connected to the lobby along with the gift shop. The laundry room is convenient near the pool and the bar is nearby and it seems like people are always having fun. Maybe you should give this a try just to compare this time.

Pop looks really cute in the pictures.
I think it's fun trying a resort you haven't stayed in.
Mickeymouseclub, Pop sounds fun! Thanks for sharing. Now I am more excited to go in December!

POFQ is our 2nd fave overall but we really enjoyed PC & will be going back in Dec when we go with grandsons & their parents of course.

I often base my choice on how much time I'll actually be @ the resort. If I'll spend most of my time in the parks/away from the resort a value's just fine.

I really enjoy walking around the grounds @ PC just to read the factoid signs & look @ the icons. We'll have a 3yo & 18mo in toe who will need mid-day naps/swim/play time. So I know I'll enjoy the break as much as they will @ this resort.

Our choice this time was to use the money we saved booking a value for extras we might not do otherwise.

The icons will appeal to a 9 & 12 yo also. If memory serves there is even an outdoor twister game in one of the sections.

Go to allears.com or youtube to check out PC with your kids. Since they've already been to POFQ it will give them a chance to compare.

I think you'll have fun either way. Enjoy!

In fact we had one lady scream at us for having a kid sleeping in our arms. The guys just sat there when my mother and I were trying to hold kids while standing up. I just think part of it is the class of people (not trying to offend anyone b/c a lot of people stay at values and are nice people) but there is def a different class that stays there. This next year I am going with the deluxe and staying at the animal kingdom lodge.

You can have a bad experience @ any level. We could stay @ deluxes everytime we go but choose not to. We find that crassness doesn't know a level.

You'll be fine @ a value if the theme & amenities fit you.

Thanks for all the input. We have decided on the French Quarter because of the laid back atmosphere and quietness.. Like to be able to get away from the crowds when we want a break. The kids loved the pool last time and being able to take the boats to Downtown Disney..

I love staying at moderates, but if it means the diff between getting to visit or not, the values work just fine!

I just know that if I ever get married again, if WDW is again my honeymoon locale, I will NOT be staying at POFQ again! LOL

However it was Disneyland. We celebrate our 35th in May. You might want to consider a 'change in venue' next time~ just sayin' ;)
