Second Mom and DD2 and Second DD1 and our family all headed out to the gates about 9:30am. Second Mom was very excited even though her DH had to stay home because he messed up his back before the trip and had to beg off. The last time Second Mom and her DD were in Disneyland, DD was 6 and also was sick with a fever, so she was happy to be experiencing DL with a happy, healthy daughter. First attraction of the day was Splash Mountain, which Second Mom had never been on before. She loved it!!! Whooo! Then it was off to see the Holiday Haunted Mansion, Pirates, and Indiana Jones. We were all hungry and decided to head over to Pizza Port, but first had to go on Space Mountain since none of us wanted to eat before going on it. Second Mom did not go on Space, as she does not do roller coasters at all, and had the added difficulty of Ménière’s disease and takes meclizine. Fortunately, attractions such as Indiana, Splash, and the other similar attractions did not stir up her vertigo. We all did a happy dance when we found out these attractions did not bother her. So, after a spin in Space, we had lunch at Pizza Port; DH and I shared a Cesar salad and pasta fusilli (sp?) with chicken. The kids had pizza or pasta. During lunch we all decided to head over to California Adventure where we got fastpasses for Soarin’ over California, and then went on Grizzly River Run, on which I got soaked on the left side of my body. Fortunately, it was pretty warm and those of us who got wet dried off pretty quickly. It was not time yet for our fastpass, so we went on California Screamin’ while Second Mom and DD3 watched from the launch area. I absolutely love this roller coaster. After Screamin’ we went to Tower of Terror and again Second Mom and DD3 waited, with DH this time, while the kids and I went on it. We then headed over to Monsters, Inc. and rode it for the first time. What a cute attraction! I love the movie and was very happy to see that they had done such a great job in keeping with the movie storyline. Then on to Soarin’ to use our fastpasses. We were in the front row and Second Mom found that going over the mountain peaks of the Sierra Nevada caused her vertigo to flare a bit, but the dizziness did not last and that made us all happy. Not wanting to push her luck, this was the only time she went on it, but I am glad she was able to see it the one time. Back to Disneyland for a spin on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Indiana and Pirates and Haunted Mansion; the last attraction for the day was Indiana and a great way to end our first day in Disneyland. Chapter 3 in progress…….
