These cartoons come into the parks in a number of ways. They sneak into places like Disneyland's Small World and act like they belong. Sometimes toons brazenly displace others who were doing just fine like the Timekeeper and I heard those long term Swiss tenants were none too pleased giving up their tree to some uneducated vine swinger. Toons don't care whom they kick out be it celebrities(like Regis, Jackie Chan and Cindy Crawford) or singing bears. Some toons like Stich are so cruel that they even have smart gents like S.I.R. looking and acting like a complete ass just to accommodate them. Also watch for squatting toons... I saw them do it in the abandoned submarine lagoon out in Anaheim. Current and future trends show that the toon population in the 11 parks will swell to staggering numbers with Cars, Little Mermaid, Crush, Toy Story and Monsters.

So Judge Doom it's time to find the largest vat imaginable for 'The Dip'. Your potion of turpentine, acetone and benzene is our only recourse in eradicating these pesky cartoon migrants.

Still the best property that Disney underutilized (especially at WDW).

Having the Toons populate Fantasyland and Toontown is fine. Costume characters intermingling with the folks in just about all lands and parks work, too, as long as they don't make their appearance a minor 'attraction' of some sort or retheme a perfectly good restaurant into 'character dining'. Referencing them at the Studios is ok, too. (Magic of Disney Animation was awesome in it's day!) But the overkill of the characters is starting to destroy the charm and thematic quality of the parks in general. It's ok to 'meet' Tarzan, Aladdin, or Baloo in Adventureland, but to build minor attractions around them there destroys the exotic feeling. Same with Tomorrowland. The Song of the South characters in Splash Mountain don't bother me as much, mainly because the ride is so well done. Perhaps if they created more quality attractions like this featuring characters, I wouldn't probably complain as much. But right now, it's becoming overkill, pure and simple. I actually don't mind a Pixar 'land' at the DHS, as long as that is the only place to find attractions based on them. But you know that won't happen. In fact, one 'toon themed' land per park (minus Epcot, of course) doesn't nearly bother me as much as 'tooning' an entire park with already wonderfully themed areas. With the exception of Space Mountain, Tomorrowland, I'm afraid, is lost now to the Toons. I just don't want to see more lands lost to them.

But the biggest problem I had, strangely, was with Flounder. He kinda sat there in the middle of the big sea backdrop, and looked just like his cartoon self. It really was a shock, especially since Ariel was Blair-d. And of course the Woody and Jessie dolls are so lame, almost evil looking - they have to go!

Agreed!! Actually, I found that whole new "United States" room to be creepy - especially those "farmer" dolls! They don't move and just look odd and out of place. I really think Disney needs to fix that area soon!

Don't worry I already painted the inside of my house bright pink, started taking very high doses of lithium, purchased a pair of toy foam swords to duel Wife instead of using my fists on her and I've recently enrolled in a pottery class; I'm telling ya throwing pots does wonders for releasing anger and pent up stress. :)

    Thanks,
I was wondering if anybody around here would remember the arch villain from Roger Rabbit.

And that is one toon I would love to see more of as well....RR should have more representation at WDW and less Stitch.
