However, Disney made some other mistakes in HKDL project, they overestimated the attendance from mainland China, since mainlanders are not familiar to Disney's products. HK locallers are not attracted as well because the both the park size and number of rides offered are pathetic. Disney Co USA and HK Gov't are currently under negotiation, Disney is asking for further investment from HK Gov't for expansion plan. Both agreed to expand the park as soon as possible at a speed of at least 10 new attractions during the next 5 years. However, HK Gov't will not invest money into the project anymore because they know HK citizens is not willing to do it. On the other hand, HK Gov't is considering to invest into HKDL by giving the land from reclaimation and part of their share to Disney in exchaning for putting real money into the project, however, HK Gov't will end up still owning more than 50% of the total share.

I can't blame the citizens for not investing more. All that money and THAT'S what they got??? BTW, what's the problem with Nuong Ping 360? That's not doing well either?

NP 360 was doing great but has been closed for almost 5 months due to one of the car fell from the cable over 50ft from the ground and crushed into trash during test run after operation hour. lucky that shit happened in test run, nobody was injured. What a shame!

However, given the zoning issues in Anaheim right now, freeing up land or giving Disney more control may be more advantageous to HKDL.

It's encouraging at least to hear that Disney & HK realize the park needs a blitz of new attractions in the near future, not one every 18 months for twenty years.

For once we have a body(HK Govt.)that has the sheer size and pull to really kick one to the mouse's groin and MAKE THEM come to the table with the goods. I hope this finally makes the WDC realize they can no longer build pathetic three attraction parking lot parks and expect to get eighteen million guests, foaming at the mouth for the "privillege" of spending the day wandering around, looking at planters and "YOMD" banners, waiting for a "Dream Squad" member to give them a churro. Now go check out my fat kid thread in the DCA section!!!!!!!!

ORWEN: Plus there was an article we just read on another web-footed site that said those Disney Management types over there--along with the local governnemt--have to keep studying to find out what the market demands are for pool ol' Hong Kond Disneyland.
