I didn't notice a whole lot of noise while at the parks. But as we weren't staying at the Grand, I can't tell you about the noise level there. The new buildings look like they might hinder the theme park view from the rooms over-looking the pool, but it's too soon to tell. Hope this helps!

In a premium hotel with park views, I am sure they would not want to minimise the revenue potential or increase the risk of complaints from the top flight customers.

But without the parks, nothing else would have happened. So the company has a continuing interest in making the parks the best experience that they can. I think having a hotel visually intrude on the adjacent park is only good for the folks staying at the hotel. And no matter what people think, the hotel is not visually in tune with the theme of the parts of the park that it impacts, visually. Not to say that the hotel, as a building, is unattractive. I actually think it is very handsome, and the interior is even better than the exterior. It's just not right to have it looming over the desert, the wilderness, and an amusement pier. Disney parks are supposed to transport you out of reality and immerse you in a theme. The GC hotel totally wrecks the theme. Especially as it looms as a backdrop behind Condor Flats. And those that think it's theme is that of "wilderness" do not comprehend the difference between "arts and crafts" and "wilderness". >>>Sequoia Lodge at DLP has some wonderful trees, but there are many complaints because they block the lakeside views the hotel has to offer.<<< I'm sure that folks that are not sleeping in that hotel or perhaps dining at one of its restaurants don't really give a dang. Only the minority that are actually there are complaining. >>>In a premium hotel with park views, I am sure they would not want to minimise the revenue potential or increase the risk of complaints from the top flight customers.<<< Right, which goes to show how bass-ackwards Disney's priorities are. Cater to the rich few and damn the rest who have to have a fat-cat hotel wreck the theme of everything in the park it looms over. I hope the trees grow bigger.
