To most multi day visitors the park will still be the fourth gate in WDW but the name change to many could be a bit confusing. Notice how it is being refered to as Disney's Hollywood Studio orlando in some of the press release as well as the recent WDW Christmas parade.

As to anything extra that day, I think things are going to be fairly low-key ... not as much as 10/1 though because this is something Disney wants to acknowledge. I have a feeling, but no confirmation yet, that the private party on the 6th that will have the Studios closing at 7 is some sort of Disney exec event. Again, just a feeling. Total rumor on my part.

Does that mean we won't be able to see the Osborne lights that evening? They have been advertising the lights will run until the 6th and we were planning to go on that evening.
