When we stayed at the GCH in 9/04, we couldn't get a bunk bed room for the first night, even though we checked in around 2:00 or so (I thought that would be arriving early enough to get room preference). We switched after the first night, but what a hassle that is.

This time we might be able to arrive as early as noon or so. Would calling the hotel directly early in the morning we arrive help, or do they only allocate you a room when you've physically arrive for check-in?
